Various Products That Help To Get The Turmeric Stain Off Of Your Carpet
There are different methods of turmeric stain removal. Let’s take you through each one.
Hydrogen peroxide and liquid dishwashing soap
To remove tough turmeric stains like the ones from curry, hydrogen peroxide has proved to be helpful.
Step 1: Take a towel soaked in warm water and blot it over the area of the stain, and remember don’t rub, just bloat it.
Step 2: Next, take a large bowl and mix water and dishwashing soap. Dip a sponge in the mixture and dab it over the stain and allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes.
Step 3: Then, with a clean towel, blot the surface of the stain to lift the turmeric off the carpet. Keep repeating this step and change the towel continuously when it gets dirty. Keep doing this until you get rid of most of the stain.
Step 4: After that, with a soft brush, scrub over the surface for several minutes.
Step 5: Now mix water and hydrogen peroxide in the ratio of 9:1, respectively. Add the solution to a spray bottle and shake well. Spray the solution on the stain and leave it to set in for approximately 2 hours.
Step 6: Scrub the area with a clean cloth or a rug with water and dishwashing soap till the carpet is free of stains.
Step 7: Once you’ve gotten rid of the stain, dry the carpet with a fan or use a steam or wet vacuum.
Baking soda and liquid dishwashing soap
Baking soda is a popular cleaning tool and has the ability to draw stains from any surface. This method of stain removal can be used for both liquid and dry turmeric stains.
Step 1: If the stain is from curry, then pick up as much curry as possible with a dry cloth. Then blot it over the surface to remove excess moisture and avoid it from setting. If it’s turmeric powder, then first scoop it with a spoon or knife and be careful not to rub or else it’ll spread.
Step 2: Mix one tablespoon of dishwashing soap with one tablespoon of baking soda and one cup of water and stir well to dissolve completely.
Step 3: Get a clean rag, dip it in the mixture, place it over the stained surface, and let it soak.
Step 4: When it’s soaked enough, scrub the surface with a soft toothbrush in a circular motion. First, start from the edges and slowly make your way inwards. Remember not to press too hard, gently scrub to avoid spreading. Blot the surface again and repeat the process until the stain is removed.
Step 5: Finally, finish the process with a stain cleaner. After applying it to the surface, let it soak in for 30 minutes and then use a clean cloth to remove the remaining stains.
Methylated spirit is something that we all have in our homes. Of the many purposes it has, stain removal is one of them. But before using methylated spirit make sure you wear rubber gloves and eye protection glasses because it can cause serious skin problems when it comes in contact.
Step 1: After picking up the turmeric from the carpet with a spoon or a knife, apply methylated spirit to the surface and allow it to settle for 5 minutes. It will start to turn red. Don’t fret, it’s normal.
Step 2: With a clean cloth or a paper towel, absorb the moisture. Change the towels once it gets dirty. And repeat till the colour doesn’t transfer to the cloth.
Step 3: Spray cold water on the surface and add a little dishwashing soap and soak it for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Then finally, dab the area with a clean damp cloth to rinse. Continue till you absorb all the leftover soap and turmeric.

Step 1: Apply a little bit of lukewarm water to the stain and leave it for a couple of minutes.
Step 2: With a paper towel, blot the area.
